theHunter: Primal is a first person hunting game in which the player hunts dinosaurs on an isolated island.

First impressions are that the game doesn’t look great, and the movement is incredibly slow. I got chomped on by little raptors, but managed to find a weapons cache that had a bow & arrow in it. I tried to shoot a Utahraptor, but got eaten. Respawned not too far away from my corpse, so I tried to swim to it, only to find that I couldn’t swim. The slow movement made me stop for now. PLAY TIME: 14 minutes

You walk very slowly in this game. Very. Slowly. Your stamina runs out incredibly quickly, which is unfortunate as it’s needed to run and swing your machete. I got ambushed by another Utahraptor after walking for 15 minutes. I died. After respawning, I found another weapons cache, this time with a health spray. I also stumped across a ruined building, and around it was a Tyrannosaurus Rex! Having only a few arrows and a wimpy machete, I panicked and ran, only to stumble across two guns. I unloaded everything I had into the Rex, only for him to get stuck in the environment, allowing me to finish him off with my machete. I also got wedged up against a Triceratops at some point and killed one of those too without taking damage. This game is very buggy.

Kinda fun, but very unpolished and apparently abandoned. A lack of dinosaur variety (I believe there are 5) hurts too. PLAY TIME: 59 minutes.
